Very comfortable and clean room. The location of the hotel is good, in a very short distance from the train station an in a walking distance from the centre of the town.
I think it was rather expensive for a hotel that it has no reception at night. On the other hand Salzburg is a rather expensive town.
Great location very near the centre of salzburg and all the sights, friendly staff, clean rooms
Reception closed at 10pm so you had to take your key everywhere, triple room was very small
The location was great as it was between the train station and the old town centre. The staff was more than friendly always with a smile.
Break was a little expensive for what it is but their soft boiled eggs are amazing!
Different attractive themes of individual room.
Hotel staff polite and helpful during stay. Liked the cosy sitting room which was free wifi enabled. Triple room was suitably sized and comfortable.
Staff and location! Bus stop is less than 100 meters away and almost all the bus line stops there!
No Wifi in our room even it says the connection covers an entire hotel... So don't forget to ask for a room with wifi signal, or else you will have to use it in a hallway or business center..,
Nice big rooms, quiet street, staff was very helpful with tickets, maps, etc. Good breakfast.
Friendly and helpful staff. Cosy rooms and building; vry celan; funny little plastic ducks ! Excellent breackfast buffet; computer with internet access in a comfortable rest room, excellent location (10 min walk from historical city center and train station); peacefull surroundings (no car noise); view to a small inner garden...
just some problems of insonorization between the rooms
Quiet secluded location. Large comfortable room. Internet enabled PC available to guests in hotel conference room which was free of charge. Excellent breakfast. Easy walk to the old and new town. Just a few minutes walk to the Mirabell Gardens.
No air conditioning but a much appreciated fan was provided. Only German speaking channels available on the TV. When going to the hotel bar there was no permanent bar staff present. A receptionist came to the rescue each time to provide drinks.
Just came back from vacation in vienna/salzburg and the room we booked for (2bed) at hotel markus sitikus was a big let down. We cant think of anything best about our stay at hotel markus sitikus. Probably the only silver lining was the receptionist who was there on our first day (could not find her after the first day). She was very warm and welcoming.
We booked into the hotel after reading the good reviews about the hotel and after having stayed there we doubt the genuiness of these reports. To enter the hotel you have some thing like 10 or 12 steps and with all the luggage, the stroller and the kid it was difficult and each time we go out with the stroller we had to get the kid out and carry the stroller so not at all disable friendly. The hotel lift was damn small (with our stroller one person can just squeeze in). The room we were booked in was small even compared to european standards(we had stayed at vienna and switzerland before). The breakfast for which there were good reviews was just ordinary and when my wife came in to have her breakfast later (I had my breakfast first and she joined at a later time) the waitress just shouted at her saying we cant have breakfast at different times!!!. Its located close to mirabel gardens however if you want to go to the city centre its something like 25mts walk though there is a bus station nearby.
The staff were excellent and very helpful. the location was perfect - just next to the Mirabel Gardens. The bus stop was very close and buses took you to the city and train station so easy to access all aprts of the city.
Clean, gentle, renewd bathrooms and elevator and still has the local spirit. Definitely recommend!
At least staff were friendly
It is stated as a 4 star hotel which is what we were expecting but I would not rate it as even 3 star. No one at desk after 10pm. No fridge or safe in bedroom. Only hand held shower. Carpets look like they have been there for 80 years and beds uncomfortable. As we got there late at night we stayed the night but checked out next morning to hotel close by. We lost money by leaving the accommodation earlier then we booked for. Did book this hotel for location (good location) and it's 4 star rating but this is definitely a misleading rating.
It's a fabulous place, in my view. If arriving by train, just 10 minutes' walk (though unfriendly staff at the station won't admit that). Close to Mirabell Gardens; completely lovely. 'Bus stop nearby to take trips out of town (opposite side of road, outside Congress Building). Short, pleasant walk to the various bridges leading you to numerous parts of the Old Town (Markus Sittikus is in the new town, but still pleasant location). Everything very accessible - all tourist sites, shops and THE loveliest place for breakfast just two blocks away (The Heart of Joy cafe). They are good for an early evening meal, too. Markus Sittikus has a garden at the back that is well kept, pleasant and secluded, with comfortable garden furniture. My single room was well decorated, thoughtfully arranged and very comfortable. Reception friendly, efficient and pleasant; pitched just right. Salzburg is a truly lovely place and I left it - and the hotel - with considerable regret.
Can't think of a thing! :-)
Location is very good. 10 minutes from train station and 2 minutes to Mirabell gardens. All other attractions were close by. Staff friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. There was no traffic noise..
The price was little high and breakfast was not included but considering the prices of hotels in Salzburg during the music festival it might be the normal price. I
